Cultured Granite Tub to Shower Conversion

Here’s another tub to shower conversion project we completed in Vacaville, Ca.  We removed the original fiberglass tub shower to begin the shower conversion using a solid surface shower base. We kept the original vanity but removed the vanity top. We also removed the original sheet vinyl flooring.

Designer Cultured Granite

We built the new shower using an upgrade to the typical cultured marble or cultured onyx  material. It’s referred to as cast granite or cultured granite.  Our cultured marble supplier have been producing the newer “designer granite” and “designer onyx” product that is even more natural looking than previous cultured products. This project  included one of the designer granite colors for the shower panels with matching vanity top. There are several colors available in both the designer granite and designer onyx collection. While we could install a matching cultured granite shower base we used a white solid surface pan, that is the same solid material through the pan so it can withstand a bit more vigorous cleaning without getting in to porous material and eventually staining as a result. Of course we installed a new pressure balanced shower valve with brushed nickel trim.

You can see the matching corner soap/shampoo holder and the smaller corner shelf unit installed lower as shaving shelf.  It’s a great clean looking low maintenance material with great custom looks. Again, we installed a matching designer granite vanity top with porcelain undermount sinks and new brushed nickel faucets matching the shower trim to complete the look.

Luxury Vinyl Plank Floor

We installed luxury vinyl plank flooring which is still softer under foot than tile but more durable than regular sheet vinyl flooring.  It’s also quicker to install than regular tile saving a little in labor cost.
